Abstract

Instant herbal drink powder is a drink product in the form of powder or granules, usually made from sugar and spices mixed with or without other food ingredients and additives. Some of the primary ingredients used in instant powdered herbal drinks are spices from the Zingiberaceae species, especially ginger, turmeric, ginger, and Kaempferia galanga, often found in Indonesia and commonly used as traditional medicine. One of the MSMEs in Watukebo Hamlet, Andongsari Village, Ambulu District, has the skills to utilize natural products (plants) for living and health needs. These MSMEs process turmeric into instant powdered herbal drinks. Based on the results of direct observations and discussions with partners, several problems were encountered. Namely, the packaging and packaging design of instant turmeric that had been produced was still simple, and there still needed to be labeling and a lack of innovation in instant herbal drink products. The results of this service are the use of better and more attractive packaging types and designs by the product, submission of SPP-IRT (Home Industry Food Production Certificate), practice and innovation of instant herbal drinks other than turmeric, namely instant ginger and instant Curcuma zanthorrhiza. Also, handover of production equipment from the service team to partners, namely spice grinding machines, plastic presses/sealers, and stainless steel pans, to produce in large quantities to market their products with a broader range.
