Abstract

Cactus plants are ornamental plants that have many benefits and high value so they are  profitable when developed. The Faculty of Agriculture, University of Jember has developing a lot of horticultural plants including ornamental plants such as cactus plants. The partner of these program is the owner of the ornamental plant business "Kartini Nursery" located in Kepatihan Village, Kaliwatesi District,Jember which has problems abaout  benefits, propagation, maintenance and making an attractive appearance of cactus plant that  can be display and sold. The purpose of this program was  to increase knowledge and technology of partner programme  regarding the benefits, methods of propagation, and maintenance of cactus plants,, to produce hight quality and attractive plants wich have high economic value. The programme carried out using socialization  and practice  method of  propagation, maintenance and planting of cactus plants tiny  plants in pots or mini gardens.The evaluation is carried out during the implementation and at the end of the activity. The results of the activities showed that the activity runs smoothly, the partners are very enthusiastic in participating in each stage of the programme and planting cactus in mini pots. Conclusion of the activities, partners knowledge and technology increased in the developing, maintenance and planting provitable  cactus in beautiful pots.
