The Community Service Program is a concrete manifestation of students' dedication to the community, with the aim of helping to build and develop the potential of the local village. The work program implemented by KKN UMD 126 focuses on enhancing community literacy. The program has been developed to respond to the needs of the community in Paguan Village. These needs relate to the poor reading interest exhibited by schoolchildren and the high illiteracy rate experienced by the elderly. The implementation method employs a participatory approach, engaging local residents, school officials, and the village government. The programme has been meticulously designed to engender long-term positive impacts in education and literacy by establishing reading corners. The programme's primary activities encompass direct instruction in local schools, the provision of training for educators, and the facilitation of educational opportunities for Paguan village residents, with a particular emphasis on reading skills for children and individuals facing illiteracy. Furthermore, the UMD 126 KKN students organised tutoring sessions with children to assist them in enhancing their skills and critical thinking abilities. This programme has been demonstrated to engender favourable change, leading to a substantial enhancement in the quality of education and literacy among the residents of Paguan Village. This, in turn, will provide long-term benefits for the social, economic, and cultural development of the region.
