Based on the 2019 Crime Statistics data published by BPS, Central Java and D.I. Yogyakarta Provinces are among the 15 provinces with the highest crime rates in Indonesia in 2018. This community service activity aims to convey the results of spatial crime analysis to local governments and the community through an applied statistical approach, especially using the Geographically Weighted Regression (GWR) method. The analysis was carried out to identify factors that locally influence crime rates, as well as to provide information that can be used as a basis for formulating data-based policies. The GWR model applied shows spatial variation in the influence of variables on crime rates. This model is better than the ordinary linear regression (OLS) model. The results show that the population density variable (X2) has a significant effect on crime rates in all districts/cities. Based on the similarity of variables that significantly affect crime, six groups of districts/cities were formed. This activity is expected to encourage wider use of open government data and increase the capacity of local policy makers in using statistical approaches for more responsive and targeted development planning.

2025-06-24T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Hasil Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat Universitas Jemberhttps://journal.unej.ac.id/JPM/article/view/5980Implementation of Vacuum Packaging Technology to Improve The Quality of “As-Syauqi” Tuna Tofu Product in Jember2025-06-12T21:59:57+07:00Bambang Herry Purnomobhp17@unej.ac.idLituhayu Supartiningrumlituhayu@unej.ac.idBertung Suryadharmasuryadharma@unej.ac.idDedy Wirawan Soedibyodedy.ws@unej.ac.id
Poklahsar "Duta Tongkol", located in Wonosari Village, Puger Sub-district, Jember, has been producing tuna tofu under the brand "As-Syauqi" since 2015. Despite its market potential, the business faces packaging challenges, particularly due to the use of thinwall plastic containers that are easily damaged and unsuitable for long-term frozen storage. With an average monthly production capacity of 100 packs, the product is currently distributed across the Jember and Bondowoso regions. This community service program aimed to assist the partner in improving product packaging by introducing vacuum-sealed packaging that better suits the product's characteristics. The team provided technical training on operating vacuum sealers and guided the partner in adjusting machine settings based on the packaging material used. This approach was implemented through hands-on demonstrations and repeated mentoring until the partner gained sufficient operational proficiency. The results showed significant improvements in packaging quality, shelf life, and visual appeal. The vacuum packaging made the product more compact, durable, and professionally presented, which contributed to higher consumer trust and competitiveness in the local market. Moreover, the partner is now able to operate the equipment independently, reducing dependency on external support. In conclusion, this program successfully enhanced product quality and empowered the partner with practical skills. It is recommended that the partner continue optimizing the use of vacuum technology and explore diverse packaging designs to reach broader market segments.
2025-06-24T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Hasil Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat Universitas Jemberhttps://journal.unej.ac.id/JPM/article/view/6035SMALL AND MIDDLE ENTERPRISE EMPOWERMENT IN IMPROVING THE ECONOMY VALUE AND INSTITUTIONAL RELATIONS AT OLEAN2025-06-23T16:30:36+07:00Ajeng Gendis Purboriniwinda.ftp@unej.ac.idNadia Azro Alleydawinda.ftp@unej.ac.idRifki Saputrawinda.ftp@unej.ac.idWinda Amiliawinda.ftp@unej.ac.idMiftahul Choironwinda.ftp@unej.ac.idAndrew Setiawan Rusdiantoandrew.ftp@unej.ac.idLeader Firstandikafirstandika@gmail.com
The economy has become a vital aspect of the Nation’s sustainability, the same goes for villages. The key issues identified among the target group were the low level of hygiene and orderliness at home, as well as a limited understanding of the importance of instilling clean and organized habits from an early age. The program employed an educational and participatory approach, incorporating presentations, group discussions, role-playing, and live demonstrations. Evaluation through pre-tests and post-tests showed a 42% average increase in participant understanding, alongside a noticeable shift in attitudes and a commitment among parents to apply 5R principles at home. The program also produced educational materials, including a module and a leaflet, and received positive responses from the school, which expressed interest in continuing the initiative regularly. The success of this program aligns with similar community service efforts, underscoring the significance of collaboration between schools, families, and higher education institutions in supporting character education. This program makes a tangible contribution to the development of clean and healthy lifestyle habits from an early age and holds potential for replication in other educational institutions as part of environmental and character education for young children.
2025-06-24T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Hasil Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat Universitas Jemberhttps://journal.unej.ac.id/JPM/article/view/6008HALAL FOOD SOCIALIZATION FOR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS THROUGH AN EDUCATIONAL APPROACH AT AL-MUNAWWIRIY ISLAMIC SCHOOL (AIS), SUMBERSARI, JEMBER2025-06-19T08:05:03+07:00Ardiyan Dwi Masahidardiyan@unej.ac.idMaria Belgismaria_belgis@yahoo.comYuli Witonoyuliwitono.ftp@unej.ac.idAhmad Nafi'ahmadnafi.ftp@unej.ac.idLailatul Azkiyahlailatul.azkiyah@unej.ac.idLita Meilinalitameilina@unej.ac.idBrihatsama199502032024061001@mail.unej.ac.idLivia Wahyuniliviawahyuni2@gmail.com
The majority of Indonesia's population is Muslim; therefore, halal food education should be instilled from an early age, particularly at the elementary school. The activity was conducted by the Research Group (Keris E-Food) from University of Jember in collaboration with AIS. The program began with an introduction Elmarom Bread production process, continued with an assessment of students’ initial understanding, and concluded with interactive socialization sessions. Educational methods employed included visual media, group discussions, and direct observation of the halal food production process. The results indicated that this educational approach was highly effective in increasing students’ knowledge of the concepts of halal and thayyib, as well as in fostering a critical attitude in selecting food in accordance with Islamic principles. Furthermore, the program reinforced the role of schools as institutions for embedding Islamic values. The programme's primary activities encompass direct instruction in local schools, the provision of training for educators, and the facilitation of educational opportunities for Paguan village residents, with a particular emphasis on reading skills for children and individuals facing illiteracy. Furthermore, the UMD 126 KKN students organised tutoring sessions with children to assist them in enhancing their skills and critical thinking abilities.
