Abstract

Traditional embroidered ethnomathematics learning which is popular in every level of society in Bali is a meaningful mathematical solution for students. This study aims to (1) find out the mathematical elements contained in Balinese jejahitan ethnomathematics; and (2) knowing Balinese jejahitan ethnomathematics learning as a context for learning mathematics. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method. Data collection techniques were carried out by means of literature studies, observations, and interviews. The subjects of this study were Balinese offerings, teachers, and junior high school students. The forms of Balinese tailoring which contain elements of a flat shape are taledan, lamak, ituk-ituk, ceniga, tamiang, diamond, porosan, and sudamala diamond which are respectively square, rectangular, triangular, isosceles trapezoid, circle, rhombus, parallelogram, and kite. So, learning jejahitan Balinese ethnomathematics as a context for learning mathematics is the right solution in creating independent and meaningful learning for students after the covid pandemic.
