Abstract

Ethnomatematics is a mathematics subject which is associated withculture or local wisdom. In the culture of society, there are mathematical concepts that can be studied and used as topic in mathematics learning process. The purpose of this research is to explore Uma Lengge traditional house, both in geometry, linear programming, and the calculation which used in building the traditional house. Learning through local wisdom is expected to increase understanding and students’ learning outcomes (score). This research used descriptive qualitative method. The results of this research are to increase our knowledge about mathematical concepts of the Uma Lengge architecture and the mathematical activities in the process of building the Uma Lengge traditional house. The geometry concepts in the architecture of Uma Lengge includes solid and plane figure.  Meanwhile, the mathematics activities is  the calculating each components of Uma Lengge traditional house.
