Abstract

This study aims to address the problem of low mathematical reasoning ability of high school students by developing and testing teaching materials using the Problem Based-Learning model. This research used the R&D design model of Dick & Carey and involved students of class X-1 in one of the high schools in Tasikmalaya. The results showed that the teaching materials developed were in accordance with the 2013 Curriculum Content Standards and the Problem Based-Learning model. The teaching materials developed include problems, sample problems, practice problems, and evaluations that aim to improve students' mathematical reasoning skills. This study found that students who used teaching materials with the Problem Based-Learning model showed significantly better results than students who did not use the teaching materials. The students also gave positive responses to the teaching materials. The findings of this study have important implications for mathematics education, as it provides insight into the development of effective teaching materials that can help students improve their mathematical reasoning skills.
