Oral hygiene is one of the important standards for maintaining good dental and oral health. Based on 2018 Basic Health Research (Riskesdas) data, the majority of people (94.7%) currently have the habit of brushing their teeth every day, but only 2.8% brush their teeth properly. SDN Margomulyo 1 is one of the elementary schools in Sleman, Yogyakarta where the majority of students generally have the habit of snacking and sweet foods without following the habit of maintaining good dental and oral health. This community service is carried out by holding dental health education and tooth brushing training for students in grades 4 and 5. All students do questions before and after the education to determine the level of students' knowledge. The results of statistical analysis using the Wilcoxon test obtained p <0.05 which shows that there is a significant difference before and after the counseling, so it can be concluded that counseling about dental and oral health and tooth brushing training is effective in increasing the knowledge of grade 4 and 5 of elementary school students at SD N Margomulyo 1.
Keywords: counseling, oral health, training, brushing teeth
2024-11-30T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2024 Dental Agromedishttps://journal.unej.ac.id/dentalagromedis/article/view/1718Peningkatan Pengetahuan Penyakit Tidak Menular sebagai Langkah Preventif Hipertensi dan Diabetes Mellitus2024-11-29T15:20:27+07:00Nika Nur Safitridianyosi@umy.ac.idAufanissa Luzida Azmi Aureliadianyosi@umy.ac.idWidya Putri Pangestudianyosi@umy.ac.idAjeng Tri Isnadianyosi@umy.ac.idRohman Abdullahdianyosi@umy.ac.idMuhammad Farhan Fadilahdianyosi@umy.ac.idYusinta Eka Saridianyosi@umy.ac.idDian Yosi Arinawatidianyosi@umy.ac.id
The prevalence of non-communicable diseases (PTM) in Indonesia is very high. Types of non-communicable diseases that many people in Indonesia experience include hypertension and diabetes mellitus. In Sleman Regency, hypertension and diabetes mellitus occupy the top two rankings of the types of diseases that many outpatients suffer from at the puskesmas. The findings in Dusun Ngemplaksari that many people, especially the elderly, have diabetes mellitus and hypertension. The high number of people suffering from this non-communicable disease is not accompanied by changes in healthy lifestyles in the community. The purpose of this community service is to provide education and examinations related to hypertension and diabetes mellitus to the people of Ngemplaksari Hamlet. This activity is carried out with socialization and a physical examination, including checking blood pressure, blood sugar, height, weight, and abdominal circumference, which is also followed by anamnesis before the examination is carried out. The results of the counseling show that there is an increase in the knowledge of the Ngemplaksari Hamlet community about non-communicable diseases; this can be seen from the increase in the pretest and posttest scores of the Ngemplaksari hamlet community. Increased awareness can also be seen from health cadres who took the initiative to learn how to use the GCU rapid test tool so that they can carry out examinations on the Ngemplaksari Hamlet community both independently and in collaboration with competent parties. This examination and education regarding PTM have had a big positive impact on the community by increasing the awareness and knowledge of the people of Ngemplaksari Hamlet regarding steps to prevent and treat non-communicable diseases.
Keywords: Diabetes; Education; Hypertension; Non-communicable diseases
2024-11-30T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2024 https://journal.unej.ac.id/dentalagromedis/article/view/1719Pelatihan dan Pendampingan Kader Kesehatan Lansia di wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Gladakpakem untuk Meningkatkan Kesehatan Gigi dan Mulut2024-11-29T15:30:40+07:00Dewi Kristianaamiyatunnaini.fkg@unej.ac.idAmiyatun Nainiamiyatunnaini.fkg@unej.ac.idAdy Soesetijoamiyatunnaini.fkg@unej.ac.idRahardyan Parnaadjiamiyatunnaini.fkg@unej.ac.idAchmad Gunadiamiyatunnaini.fkg@unej.ac.idAfif Surya Adenaamiyatunnaini.fkg@unej.ac.idArdhianing Harditaamiyatunnaini.fkg@unej.ac.id
In order to achieve dental and oral health indicators, promotive and preventive efforts are needed in addition to curative and rehabilitative measures. Promotive action is by conducting training for elderly cadres about dental and oral health for the elderly and counseling about dental and oral health for the elderly. The dental and oral health status of the elderly in the working area of the Gladapakem Health Center has received little attention. As well as the knowledge and attitude of the elderly towards dental and oral health is also low; it can be seen that many older adults with no teeth are left without wearing dentures. Elderly cadres at Posyandu have a significant role. Based on interviews with nurses holding the elderly Posyandu program in the working area of the Gladakpakem Health Center, Sumbersari District, Jember Regency, the activities carried out so far are checking blood pressure, body weight, if there are complaints referred to the Health Center. Meanwhile, dental and oral examination activities and counseling on dental and oral health carried out by health cadres are rarely done. Knowledge of dental and oral health cadres also needs to be improved. So the servant carried out the service by holding training and mentoring for elderly health cadres in Posyandu Catleya Kebonsari Village and Kranjingan Village regarding dental and oral health. From the results of community service activities, it can be concluded that there is an increase in skill knowledge about elderly dental and oral health in elderly cadres.
Keywords: dental and oral health, elderly patient, posyandu.
2024-11-30T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2024 https://journal.unej.ac.id/dentalagromedis/article/view/1623Edukasi dan Pemberdayaan kepada Ibu Hamil dan Ibu Balita dalam Upaya Pencegahan Stunting pada Balita di Desa Slateng, Ledokombo dan Desa Jatian Pakusari2024-11-06T11:37:34+07:00Asa Falahiasafalahi13@gmail.comDewi Rashatidewi.rashati@yahoo.comHadi Barru Hakam Fajar Siddiqhakamfajar@gmail.com
Stunting is a nutritional problem caused by a long-term lack of nutritional intake during the first 1000 days of life (HPK) which is a critical period, resulting in impaired growth in children, namely the child's height is lower or shorter (dwarf) than the standard age. Currently, the stunting rate in the Jember Regency is recorded at 37.08 percent. Ledokombo and Pakusari sub-districts are villages with high stunting rates in Jember City. Particularly in Slateng Ledokombo Village, which has the five highest incidences of stunting in Jember. The activity aims to increase the nutritional knowledge and behavior of pregnant women and mothers under five to prevent stunting. Educational activities with stunting prevention were carried out for respondents consisting of pregnant women and mothers with toddlers. This activity was carried out by delivering material using previously designed leaflets as a health promotion tool. The distributed leaflet was entitled “Prevent Stunting with Vitamin & Mineral Intake, Clean and Healthy Behavior During the First 1000 Days of Life”. Based on the activities' results, the two villages (Jatian and Slateng) were included in the good category, before and after being given education by the executors of the Jember Pharmacy Academy. The community already knows about stunting and its prevention. This cannot be separated from the role of the government through Cadres and Village Midwives in providing provision, information, and education to the community. Community Service activities carried out by the Jember Pharmacy Academy community increase public knowledge about stunting and its prevention. This can be seen in the results of the post-test questionnaire filled out by activity participants.
Keywords: Stunting, Education, Empowerment.
2024-11-30T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2024 Dental Agromedishttps://journal.unej.ac.id/dentalagromedis/article/view/1722Analisa Pengetahuan PHBS pada Kader Posyandu Desa Tamanan Bondowoso dalam Upaya Penurunan Stunting Pada Balita2024-11-29T16:25:08+07:00Muhammad Nurul Aminm_nurul_amin.fkg@unej.ac.idTecky Indrianam_nurul_amin.fkg@unej.ac.idI Dewa Ayu Ratna Dewantim_nurul_amin.fkg@unej.ac.idNurud Diniyahm_nurul_amin.fkg@unej.ac.idBudi Yuwonom_nurul_amin.fkg@unej.ac.idAgus Sumonom_nurul_amin.fkg@unej.ac.idRoedy Budirahardjom_nurul_amin.fkg@unej.ac.idBanun Kusumawardanim_nurul_amin.fkg@unej.ac.id
Stunting in toddlers is related to growth and development disorders. One important factor in preventing stunting is the implementation of Clean and Healthy Living Behaviour (CHLB). CHLB plays a role in improving the nutritional and health status of children, as well as preventing various diseases that can contribute to stunting. The role of cadres is very important because cadres are responsible for implementing the posyandu program, are the main movers in promotive, preventive activities and are motivators for community members. The aim of this service is to analyse knowledge about PHBS among posyandu cadres in Tamanan Village, Tamanan District, Bondowoso Regency. The service method is an outreach activity aimed at providing knowledge about CHLB with the hope that people will change their behaviour to protect their health and the environment independently. Formative evaluation procedures in the form of pretest and posttest. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis techniques. Continue with the normality test and paired sample t-test. The results obtained were that this community service activity was carried out on all posyandu cadres. Evaluation showed that there was a difference in the average test scores before and after the counselling. Providing counselling is able to provide changes in the knowledge of posyandu cadres which is marked by an increase in posttest scores which are higher compared to posttest scores. The conclusion is that the knowledge of Tamanan Bondowoso Village Posyandu cadres regarding CHLB in efforts to reduce stunting in toddlers can be increased through the counselling provided.
Keywords: CHLB, counseling, posyandu cadres, stunting.
2024-11-30T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2024 https://journal.unej.ac.id/dentalagromedis/article/view/1723Cover Dental Agromedis Volume 2 No 2 (2024)2024-11-29T16:41:42+07:002024-11-30T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2024 https://journal.unej.ac.id/dentalagromedis/article/view/1725Daftar Isi2024-11-29T16:56:17+07:002024-11-30T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2024
