2024-05-312024-05-312111110.19184/instem.v2i1.480Counseling on The Importance of The Diction of “Side Dishes Amis-Amis” for Pregnant, Breastfeeding Women and Toddler for Preventing Bad Nutrition and Stunting in Kalisat Village, Jember District, East Java
https://journal.unej.ac.id/instem/article/view/543

Jember Regency ranks 8th in East Java and 11th in Indonesia for cases of malnutrition and stunting in infants. Kalisat District is among the top 5 for stunted babies in Jember. The root of the problem is not only the local economy but also the public's understanding of the term "nutrition," which is not yet reflected in daily life. Therefore, counseling on understanding the word nutrition, replaced with "amis-amis or mis-amis" for various high-protein side dishes, is essential. The young mothers in Jember had poor understanding and very low reflection on the term nutrition, contributing to malnutrition and stunting in Kalisat Village, Kalisat District. The solution is to conduct counseling and practical sessions on the importance of understanding the term "fishy side dishes" that are high in animal protein for pregnant and breastfeeding mothers to enhance brain and physical growth (fetal) and avoid malnutrition and stunting. The methods of implementation include observation, interviews (in FGD), counseling, and practical sessions in Kalisat Village, Jember. The results show that community service involving counseling or socialization of the understanding of the word nutrition, implemented through the replacement of the term with "fishy side dishes," is more effective. This approach includes FGD, counseling, and practical sessions of cooking and eating together using high-protein fishy side dishes. These methods are aimed at improving growth and development in children (from the womb, during breastfeeding, and in toddlers) to prevent malnutrition and stunting.
AsrumiAsri SundariAnastasia Erna R.S.I.G. 2024-05-312024-05-3121122110.19184/instem.v2i1.543Measuring The Amount Of Ammonia Gas In Cattle Using The MQ137 Sensor In Rawan Village, Mayang District, And Member District With The Goal Of Raising Public Health Standards
https://journal.unej.ac.id/instem/article/view/757

The majority of the farmers in Pringtali Hamlet, Mayang Village, Jember Regency, are also cattle breeders. Cattle breeders make up the majority of farmers. They construct basic cow enclosures; the majority are joined to the home, while others are independent. For the two of them, the cage's quality does not match the standards for cleanliness. Even in cages attached to the home, the smell of cow poo can be detected up to three meters outside the cage and within the main house. Ammonia is often the gas that is released from either liquid or solid cow manure. This gas can have some negative effects on health; in fact, it can irritate respiratory blood vessels in those 60 years of age and older. Because ammonia gas from cages has not been handled adequately, the living environment is contaminated. The goal of our service is to measure the threshold level of ammonia gas surrounding the cage (using the MQ-135 sensor) in order to ascertain whether the cage is ecologically friendly and healthy. Two cow pens one adjacent to a domestic main house in Pringtali Hamlet and the other from a separate traditional pen have had measurements taken. By monitoring liquid excrement drainage channels and promoting air circulation around the cage, the measurements seek to maintain the cleanliness of the cage environment and the management of ammonia gas content. Cage management so that the livestock community can improve the cleanliness of the living environment.
MistoTri MulyonoImam Rofi’iArry Yuariatun NurhayatiYuda Cahyoargo HariadiLinggar Ayu Octaviani

https://journal.unej.ac.id/instem/article/view/844

Small and medium-sized micro enterprises (UMKM) are one of the economic activities that can improve the economy of the community. The empowerment of UMKM as an attempt to improve the economy of the post-Covid 19 pandemic community was also carried out by the citizens of Dusun Mangirejo district of Saradan, Madiun district. The initial purpose of cultivating this mushroom was to create positive activities for mothers around the UMKM site. In addition, this activity is also expected to increase the input of the UMKM. The strategy used by UMKM managers is that they have not used labelling, product packaging and have not mastered design. The solution to be achieved is to use technology as a means of marketing, in addition to the labelling and peckaging of products to expand the product distribution market. Activities in the implementation of dedication include socialization of product labeling, product packaging design skills training, and socialisation of product marketing with media sosial. Results of activities show that socialization and training activities have a significant impact on UMKM Sido Lancar. This is evident in the ability of UMKM perpetrators to design simple logos, design product packaging labels, as well as their ability to promote through media sosial.
Ihtiari PrastyaningrumDenny HardiyantoIndriyana Dwi Mustikarini

https://journal.unej.ac.id/instem/article/view/431

Stunting describes a state of chronic lack of nutritional status that occurs during a period of growth and development from an early age. Stunting is one of the problems currently being the focus of the Indonesian government. Stunting prevention efforts can be started from the surrounding environment through education from related parties. This encourages the Jember Collaborative KKN team to help with problems in the community. There are various factors that can lead to stunting in children under five, including the individual characteristics of toddlers and socioeconomic aspects. This research was conducted as an observation in Kasiyan Village, Puger District, Jember Regency. Due to the lack of knowledge of the villagers about stunting, the Jember Collaborative KKN students worked together with the village government to invite the residents back to counseling activities to prevent stunting. This activity includes information on steps to prevent and treat stunting. In addition, it also explains the impact of gaps that may arise if a clean and healthy lifestyle is not implemented, which can contribute to stunting in children. Jember Collaborative KKN students also conducted demonstrations to villagers, especially mothers, regarding how to provide complementary food for ASI (breast milk) that is suitable, economical, and easy to obtain from the surrounding environment. From this activity, students hope to achieve results and goals, namely the high enthusiasm of the residents so that extension activities can run smoothly. Villagers no longer feel alien to the concept of stunting and have knowledge on how to prevent it, including proper complementary feeding. It is hoped that this new knowledge will be able to be applied by the target community to provide the needs of solids and nutritious food for the baby. This activity begins with organizing in the form of a Business Model Canvas (BMC) and then proceeds to the process in the field.
Kansha Hasri AinunEka Winda Muchlisah PutriIntan Fauza Az-ZahraFikri Kamal FashahYaniDewi SafitriRitfan Valentino FebriansyahMuhammad RezaLisa Qurrotu AiniWardatus SholehahAhmad JailaniAch.
