Almost every house in Suling Kulon Village keeps cattle. However, the community still does not have awareness of environmental hygiene by allowing cow dung to accumulate in one place without further processing. Cow dung can be used as organic fertilizer which will later be useful for local agriculture, by changing organic fertilizer farmers can overcome the problem of increasingly expensive chemical fertilizers. Cow manure used as organic fertilizer contains macro and micro nutrients which are very useful for plant growth and development and the use of organic fertilizers does not contain chemical elements so that it has no residue. By using organic fertilizers, the soil will be healthier and more fertile. From the existing problems, KKN students have a solution by holding socialization work programs and training in making organic fertilizers so that people are aware of a healthy environment, know how to make organic fertilizers and can implement them at home. This community service activities had been carried out for 45 days from 12th of July to 21st of August 2023. Making organic fertilizer made from cow dung can certainly be an alternative for restoring soil conditions. Organic fertilizer could help fertilize the soil and make agricultural land use sustainable. Apart from that, the manufacture of organic fertilizer made from cow dung also provides benefits for farmers and the community. One of them was in the economic sector, cattle breeders can make a profit by selling the results of making organic fertilizer.</em></p> </div> </div> </div> Debi Sekar Ramadhani, Alvi Nur Inayati, Sundahri Sundahri, Chubab ‘Ainul Yaqin al Ghifari, Ghifarizky Zannu Prasetya, Mutiara Rafsya Asyraf, Aurelia Nur Salsabilla, Haryati Eirene Sinaga, Salman Bahreisy, Rindu Anjasmoro Kondi, Resa Dyna Daniar Copyright (c) 2024 PAPUMA: Journal of Community Services https://journal.unej.ac.id/papuma/article/view/820 Fri, 19 Apr 2024 00:00:00 +0700 STRATEGI AKSELERASI DESTINASI EKOWISATA POTRE KONING DI DESA SUMBERCANTING, BONDOWOSO https://journal.unej.ac.id/papuma/article/view/648 <div class="page" title="Page 1"> <div class="layoutArea"> <div class="column"> <p><em>This article is about the strategy to accelerate the development of the Potre Koning ecotourism destination in Sumbercanting Village, Wringin District, Bondowoso Regency which has the potential for attractive natural scenery, namely hills, teak and kedawung trees, niches in the form of paddy fields dividing the hills, siring terrace cultivation on the hillsides, waterfall, and Mustajab cave. The preparation stage including initial observation activities, mapping problems in the field, and drafting mentoring activities. Initial observations were carried out to understand the complexity and dynamics that occurred in the field. The data from initial observations was classified based on various problems, obstacles, and shortcomings faced by the Potre Koning ecotourism destination managers. In developing Potre Koning ecotourism, the management needs to pay attention to (1) management by Pokdarwis in managing the ecotourism destination; (2) management of a variety of attractions that can be developed to attract tourists; (3) spatial planning, comfort and ecotourism infrastructure, (4) promotion and marketing through conventional mass media, electronics and social media; (5) security of the ecotourism destination location, and (6) sustainability of the Potre Koning ecotourism destination. Based on the results of service in the field, it was known that the development management factor by Pokdarwis and the role of the village government, Muspika (District Head, Danramil, Kapolsek) were key factors in the success of destination development. Potre Koning ecotourism's development was expected to positively impact local economic growth in Sumbercanting Village, increasing the number of tourists, preserving ecotourism objects, and maximum community participation.</em></p> </div> </div> </div> Edy Hariyadi, Heru S.P. The decline in cocoa production was due to the low selling value of cocoa beans, thereby reducing farmers' income. Farmers uncertain income caused the transition of crop commodities into plantation and food crops. The low selling value of cocoa beans was caused by the low quality of cocoa beans. One of the factors that caused the low quality of beans was post-harvest management, which is the cocoa bean fermentation process that is rarely done by the farmers. This community service program aims to provide knowledge about the correct bean fermentation method so they can improve the quality of cocoa beans. Service activities are carried out using counseling and training methods followed by demonstrations on how to ferment cocoa beans. In general, the counseling activity about the selection of cocoa pods that are ready to be harvested and fermentation procedures went well. The seed demonstration activity was also successful which was indicated by brown cocoa beans and had a fragrant smell. The target community already can carry out a good cocoa bean fermentation process. Cocoa bean fermentation technology can be used to improve the physical and chemical quality of cocoa beans so it can increase the value and sales of cocoa beans. The increase in sales will encourage farmers to develop a cocoa-based farming system.</em></p> </div> </div> </div> Eko Priyantono, Indri Fariroh Copyright (c) 2024 PAPUMA: Journal of Community Services https://journal.unej.ac.id/papuma/article/view/835 Mon, 22 Apr 2024 00:00:00 +0700
