This activity aims to improve farmers' knowledge, attitudes, and skills in managing organic waste into economically valuable organic fertilizer. The methods used included socialization, counseling, and hands-on demonstrations involving farmers, the Agricultural Extension Agency (BPP), Babinsa (village security officers), and MSIB students. Evaluation results showed a significant increase in farmers' knowledge about bokashi fertilizer after participating in the activity, as indicated by the comparison between pretest and posttest scores. In addition to raising awareness of waste management, this activity also encouraged farmers to reduce their dependence on chemical fertilizers. This local potential-based empowerment has proven effective in fostering farmer independence and promoting a more sustainable agricultural system
Dessy Melia Eka Putri, Lenny Widjayanthi, Astri Indah Prabawati, Bagus Ervian Anandy, Erdita Vinola Copyright (c) 2025 PAPUMA: Journal of Community Services https://journal.unej.ac.id/papuma/article/view/5576 Wed, 30 Apr 2025 00:00:00 +0700 PELATIHAN PEMBUATAN MOL AKAR BAMBU DALAM MENDUKUNG PERTANIAN ORGANIK KEDELAI DI DESA JUBUNG KABUPATEN JEMBER https://journal.unej.ac.id/papuma/article/view/2556
Jubung Village is the largest soybean producing area in Sukorambi District. The Farmer Group 'Tani Mulyo" experienced problems in soybean cultivation, namely soybean production which could not increase and the high price of fertilizer. The solution that can be given is the use of local microorganisms (MOL). MOL (Local Microorganisms) is a group of commonly cultivated microorganisms use in the "zero waste" concept is as a "starter" for organic composting. Materials and tools used were bamboo roots, granulated sugar, shrimp paste, rice bran, water, pan, stirrer, 20 L bucket, stove, cover and sprayer. The work program began with preparation of activities such as coordination with several stakeholders such as village officials, accompanying group lecturers, farmers and the Jubung village community. Next, socialization and practice of making local microorganisms (MOL) were carried out. This implementation is a practice of making local microorganisms (MOL) which is carried out at the home of one of the jubung farming communities. The production of local microorganisms (MOL) was accompanied by lecturers and carried out jointly with farmers. Indicators of the success of the work program which aims to develop the insight and skills of the community and farmers in improving the community economy with local microorganism entrepreneurship (MOL), and increasing the productivity of agricultural input products in Jubung village.
Firman Aritonang, Tioma Stephani Pakpahan, Restiani Sih Harsanti, Indri Fariroh, Usmadi Usmadi, Denna Eriani Munandar, Sundahri Sundahri, Slameto Slameto Copyright (c) 2025 PAPUMA: Journal of Community Services https://journal.unej.ac.id/papuma/article/view/2556 Wed, 30 Apr 2025 00:00:00 +0700 PENGEMBANGAN STRATEGI BISNIS BERKELANJUTAN PADA PETERNAKAN SAPI PERAH DENGAN TRIPLE LAYERED BUSINESS MODEL CANVAS https://journal.unej.ac.id/papuma/article/view/5488
Rembangan Dairy Farm, located in Jember Regency, East Java, is a dairy farming business that has been operating since 1932 and is managed by the local government under the Department of Food Security and Livestock. The farm focuses on producing high-quality fresh cow's milk with a fat content of 3.69%-4.13% and also offers educational tourism for the public. This study employs the Triple Layered Business Model Canvas (TLBMC) approach to analyze the sustainability of the farm from economic, social, and environmental perspectives. The analysis reveals that the economic aspect scores 68.47, with weaknesses in partner collaboration (Key Partners) and core activities (Key Activities). The social aspect achieves the highest score (76.25), but further adaptation to local culture (Societal Culture) is needed. Meanwhile, the environmental aspect scores the lowest (29.13) due to negative impacts such as the use of plastic packaging and suboptimal waste management. To enhance sustainability, Rembangan Dairy Farm is advised to strengthen partnerships, improve customer service, and implement environmentally friendly strategies, such as the use of sustainable raw materials and better waste management. Through these steps, Rembangan Dairy Farm is expected to enhance its competitiveness, improve community welfare, and reduce environmental impacts, thereby making a greater contribution to the national dairy industry.
Yuli Hariyati, Maulid Dia Putri Syahroni, Dwi Agustin, Tati Zulfa Kamila, Nurlaili Nurlaili, Vina Yunita Ria Copyright (c) 2025 PAPUMA: Journal of Community Services https://journal.unej.ac.id/papuma/article/view/5488 Wed, 30 Apr 2025 00:00:00 +0700 PEMBERDAYAAN MASYARAKAT MELALUI PEMANFAATAN DAUN JARAK SEBAGAI BAHAN BAKU PEREKAT PESTISIDA ORGANIK DI DESA KLOMPANGAN KECAMATAN AJUNG KABUPATEN JEMBER JAWA TIMUR https://journal.unej.ac.id/papuma/article/view/4326
Community service activities in Klompangan Village, Ajung District, Jember Regency, aim to empower farmers to overcome the obstacles of using chemical pesticides which are expensive and have a negative impact on the environment. This activity is motivated by problems in controlling plant pests which require effective, environmentally friendly and economical solutions. Farmers, especially small farmers, face difficulties in obtaining or purchasing chemical pesticide adhesives due to high prices and limited distribution. This program is designed to increase public awareness, especially farmers, about the importance of protecting the environment and reducing the negative impact of the use of synthetic pesticides on health and the environment. The training was carried out through lecture and demonstration methods, which provided participants with an understanding of environmentally friendly biological control techniques for Plant Pest Organisms (OPT), how to make organic pesticide adhesive from natural ingredients such as castor leaves, hibiscus leaves and cooking oil, as well as their benefits for agriculture. sustainable. Agriculture that relies on chemical fertilizers in crop cultivation can cause damage to the soil and the environment. The use of organic fertilizer is highly recommended as an environmentally friendly alternative. Organic fertilizer is one good solution, namely by using cow dung waste as the main ingredient for making solid organic fertilizer. Professional internship activities in Paguan village, Taman Krocok District, Bondowoso Regency, aim to provide training in making solid organic fertilizer from cow dung. The stages carried out in this activity include socialization and practice of making organic fertilizer made from cow dung. The method use in this activity is Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA), which aims to increase public awareness and trust in making solid organic fertilizer from cow dung. The empowerment carried out in this method is enabling, strengthening, protecting, supporting, and maintaining. his activity is expected to improve human resources in the form of understanding and ability of Farmer Groups in managing natural resources sustainably and reducing dependence on using chemical fertilizers. Farmers are also able to make organic fertilizer from cow manure to reduce dependence on the use of chemical fertilizers.
Diah Puspaningrum, Ryan Rhesa Putra, Aliza Febrianti Mafinanik, Nisful Nur Fadilah Copyright (c) 2025 PAPUMA: Journal of Community Services https://journal.unej.ac.id/papuma/article/view/4396 Wed, 30 Apr 2025 00:00:00 +0700
