Pre-Review
Before peer review, the manuscripts will be pre-review by the Editorial Board members. The pre-review determines the suitability of the manuscript with the guidelines of the journal, including the submission guidelines, focus, and scope, and that they are of excellent academic quality. Authors must ensure that the journal editors and reviewers fully understand the academic content of their papers. Please note that the Editorial Board will reject the manuscript submitted if the manuscript is out of focus and scope.
Each author has the responsibility to ensure that the manuscript submitted to Jurnal Agroteknologi is original and plagiarism-free. The result of manuscript screening should be a maximum of 25% similarity.
Manuscripts that have conformed to such mentioned criteria, and if they are judged suitable for this publication, will be forwarded to the desk review.
Peer-Review
The review process in this journal applies the double-blind peer review method, in which neither authors nor reviewers know each other’s identities. When the manuscript has passed the desk review stage, editors will deliver the manuscript to two reviewers who are experts in the field of the submitted manuscript. The task of reviewers is to assess originality, clarity of presentation, and contribution to the legal knowledge. The editors solely decide the final decision of manuscript acceptance according to reviewers' comments. Typically, reviewers will complete the review process within three weeks. Manuscripts that did not successfully pass the desk review process will not proceed to this stage and will be rejected.
The submitted manuscript is processed within approximately 20 weeks from submission to publication. The process of the review is conducted as follows:
1. The desk review. The editor will check the manuscript with the suitability of the template, as well as the focus and scope of the journal.
2. The peer-review. If appropriate, the editor will send the manuscript to reviewers with a double-blind peer review. In this peer-review process, reviewers will provide the following recommendations: (1) accepted, if the manuscript is acceptable for publication; (2) accepted with minor revisions, if the manuscript is acceptable for publication after it undergoes a revision in response to the reviewers’ concerns; (3) accepted with major revisions, if there are substantive inadequacies in the manuscript, such as data analysis, the main theory used and rewriting of paragraphs, need to be revised; or (4) rejected, if the manuscript is not acceptable for publication, or the given reviews relate to fundamental issues). Typically, the editor does not directly accept the manuscript but requires a revision. Once the revision request is sent to the author, the revision must be made, and the author must send the manuscript revision within 7-14 days, following the editor's comments that highly consider reviewers’ suggestions.
3. Final decision. The editor scrutinizes the author's revised version before deciding whether the manuscript is accepted or rejected. In this step, the manuscript may still be rejected if the author did not seriously conduct the necessary revisions. The final decision of article acceptance is informed to the author(s) by the Editor of Jurnal Agroteknologi based on the reviewers' approval.
Publication Confirmation
At this stage, in a certain condition, the final layout of the manuscript will be resent to the author to ensure that the content follows the author’s writing. The journal will also send a document that requires the author to upload the author's declaration, which includes its originality and it is not in consideration in another journal(s). At this stage, the author may revise any typographical error found in the final manuscript. Once confirmation from the author is given, the Editorial Secretary will process the manuscript for online publication on the website.
