Peer Review

The detailed review process is explained as follows:

  1. Submission: All manuscripts must be submitted exclusively through JAUJ's Open Journal System (OJS). First, authors must register to create an account in our OJS and log in to submit their manuscript. All submitted manuscripts must follow the journal's template and align with its focus and scope. Please read the author guidelines carefully.

  2. Initial Screening: The editor will conduct an initial screening of each submitted manuscript. Manuscripts that do not comply with the journal's template or fall outside its focus and scope will be rejected without review. Manuscripts that meet the journal's template and focus & scope will first be checked for plagiarism. The submitted manuscript will be checked for plagiarism using Turnitin. If the similarity level exceeds 25%, the editor will inform the author and request a revision. Manuscripts that pass this stage will be sent for review; otherwise, they will be returned to the author.

  3. Double-Blind Peer Review: We use a double-blind peer review process, meaning that authors and reviewers will not know each other's identities. Each manuscript will be reviewed by a minimum of two reviewers. The possible decisions that can be made by the reviewers include:
    1. Accept: Accepted manuscripts will be published without revisions. However, proofreading and layout editing of the manuscript still will be conducted;
    2. Accepted with revision: The manuscript requires revisions before publication. The editor will return the article to author and give one to four weeks to complete the revisions.
    3. Reject: The manuscript is not considered for publication in JAUJ.

  4. Layout Editing: After the manuscript is accepted by both reviewers, a copyeditor will finalize the article. At this stage, the author will be asked to pay the required article publication charge. Then, editor will conduct a final plagiarism check on the article

  5. Publication: The article will be published once all the stages above are completed. The process from submission to publication typically takes approximately 6-12 weeks.
