Publication Ethics
This ethical statement should be complied by parties involved in all editorial and publishing processes in this journal including Editors, Reviewers, Authors, and Publishers. This statement is very important to uphold publication ethics during editorial process at Semiotika: Jurnal Ilmu Sastra dan Linguistik based on COPE Best Practices for Journal Editors and the current COPE's core practice. Semiotika strives to make scientific contributions through a rigorous editorial and review process. Therefore, all parties involved should agree on and adhere to standards of ethical behavior.
The articles published in Semiotika are scientific works that prioritize the continuity of scientific development on a regular basis, especially in the field of literature (Indonesian, regional, or foreign), and micro (theoretical) and macro (applied and interdisciplinary) linguistics. The continuous development of this knowledge can also be realized by prioritizing the quality of both the author and the institution. Therefore, ethical standards are needed as guidelines for all parties involved in publishing journal articles in Semiotika, namely authors, journal editors, and publishers. Editors are committed to ensuring all procedures are directed towards objective action. Editors and reviewers choose the basic principles of justice, where there are no differences in race, gender, religious belief, ethnicity, nationality, or political interests, and certain groups in the process.
Duties of Author
1. Take responsibility and ensure that only new and original works are sent.
2. Not submitting the same work to another journal.
3. Before there is an official rejection from either a reviewer or editor, do not send the same manuscript to other journals.
4. Responsible and willing to fix the manuscript resulting from the review according to the reviewer's direction.
Duties of Reviewer
1. Prioritizing the objective of scientific, professional, fair, before giving an assessment.
2. Can provide suggestions for rejection if the text does not meet the criteria for scientific development.
3. Ensuring the authenticity of the text against plagiarism.
4. Reveal any mistakes related to publication ethics to the Editor in Chief.
5. Comply with the time allocated for the review. If you want an extension of time, it must be at the editor's discretion.
Duties of Editor Team
1. Contribute actively to the progress of the journal.
2. Promote the journal continuously.
3. Obey and carry out all tasks assigned to them.
4. Fair, professional, adhere to the times.
5. Principled for the progress of science.
Duties of Chief Editor
1. Evaluating the manuscript fairly and based solely on intellectual ability.
2. Guarantee the confidentiality of the manuscript and do not disclose any information related to the manuscript to anyone other than people involved in the publishing process.
3. Responsible for deciding when and which articles to publish.
4. Actively seek views from board members, reviewers, and writers on how to improve/improve the journal.
5. Provide clear instructions to contributors about the process of submitting articles and what to expect from the author.
